About The Position

Comfort Keepers is hiring part-time in-home caregivers in the Avon area, with part-time and full-time hours available depending on availability. The starting wage is $18 per hour, or $20 per hour for Certified Nursing Assistants. After five months of employment, employees are eligible for free CNA classes through Scrubs Academy.

In-home caregivers help clients remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their own homes. The role includes personal care, household assistance, meal preparation, companionship, mobility and medication support, and care for clients with dementia or Alzheimer’s. Caregivers communicate with the Client Care Coordinator as needed and complete electronic documentation of their shifts and the care provided.

Requirements

• Experience in a caregiving role.
• Availability every other weekend and on holidays.
• At least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Reliable personal transportation, a clean driving record, and three years of driving experience.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance, and comfort with driving.
• DHS and driving-record background clearance.
• Customer service excellence and professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living.
• Provide hands-on personal care, including assistance with dressing, grooming, incontinence, and hygiene.
• Perform light housekeeping, including cleaning bathrooms, living areas, and kitchens; dusting; mopping; changing linens; vacuuming; laundry; and taking out garbage.
• Plan and prepare meals, including cooking and baking.
• Provide conversation and companionship.
• Provide interactive caregiving.
• Assist with mobility, including use of transfer tools or equipment.
• Assist with medication.
• Provide dementia or Alzheimer’s care.
• Communicate with the Client Care Coordinator as needed.
• Complete electronic documentation of shifts and care provided.
