About The Position

Comfort Keepers is hiring a part-time CNA for the Avon area. The wage begins at $18 per hour, or $20 per hour for a Certified Nursing Assistant. Part-time and full-time hours are available depending on availability. Employees may become eligible after five months of employment for free CNA classes with Scrubs Academy.

As an in-home caregiver, you help clients remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their own homes. The role involves personal care, household tasks, meal preparation, companionship, mobility support, medication assistance, dementia or Alzheimer’s care, communication with the Client Care Coordinator, and electronic documentation of shifts and care provided.

Requirements

• Experience in a caregiving role.
• Availability every other weekend and on holidays.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Own reliable transportation, a clean driving record, and three years of driving experience.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance; must be comfortable driving.
• DHS and driving-record background clearance.
• Customer service excellence and professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living.
• Provide hands-on personal care, including help with dressing, grooming, incontinence, and hygiene.
• Perform light housekeeping, including cleaning bathrooms, living areas, and kitchens; dusting; mopping; changing linens; vacuuming; laundry; and taking out garbage.
• Plan and prepare meals, including cooking and baking.
• Provide conversation, companionship, and interactive caregiving.
• Assist clients with mobility, including use of transfer tools or equipment.
• Assist with medication.
• Provide dementia or Alzheimer’s care.
• Communicate with the Client Care Coordinator as needed.
• Complete electronic documentation of shifts and care provided.
