In-Home Caregiver (Hiring Now!)
About The Position
Happy to Help Caregiving is hiring in-home caregivers to provide non-medical, one-on-one care in clients’ private residences. Caregivers support clients according to their individual care plans and help create a safe, respectful, and positive experience while honoring each client’s dignity, independence, preferences, privacy, and trust. The work includes companionship, personal care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, mobility assistance, transportation, respite care, and shift documentation. Caregivers are expected to arrive on time, follow care-plan instructions, maintain professional boundaries, and communicate changes in clients’ conditions. Flexible full-time, part-time, and PRN schedules are available, including days, evenings, weekdays, and weekends; 12-hour shifts are also available. Pay is $15.00–$17.00 per hour, with weekly pay and paid orientation. The role provides mileage reimbursement for client errands and appointments and safety equipment. Prior caregiving experience is a plus but is not required; compassionate, dependable candidates willing to learn are encouraged to apply.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Photo ID and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Compassionate, dependable, professional, patient, trustworthy, and respectful demeanor.
- Ability to follow written care plans and verbal instructions accurately.
- Comfort assisting with personal care tasks and physical mobility support.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with clients, families, and office staff.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Consistency, accountability, respect for client preferences and privacy, and commitment to preserving client dignity and independence.
Nice To Haves
- Prior caregiving experience is a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Provide meaningful conversation and emotional support to clients.
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and general hygiene.
- Prepare meals according to clients’ dietary needs and assist with feeding when required.
- Perform light housekeeping, including laundry, dishes, taking out trash, and general tidying.
- Remind clients to take scheduled medications.
- Assist with safe transfers, repositioning, and mobility equipment.
- Drive clients to medical appointments, errands, and approved outings.
- Provide respite care to family caregivers.
- Document shift activities and communicate changes in a client’s condition.
- Follow care plans, arrive on time, maintain professional boundaries, and treat clients and their homes with care and respect.
