The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office is seeking compassionate and committed individuals to join their team as an In-Custody Case Manager (ICCM). The Correctional Division operates two jails in Redwood City: Maguire Correctional Facility (MCF) and Maple Street Correctional Center (MSCC). The MSCC is designed for programming and case management, offering classrooms and over 20 programs for male and female incarcerated individuals. The Sheriff's Office also provides programs and services at MCF. The ICCM will work one-on-one with incarcerated individuals (IPs) to perform case management duties, including planning, implementing, and coordinating jail programs and services in cognitive behavioral, education/literacy, vocational, and activity-based areas. This may involve facilitating program groups using approved curricula for the justice-involved population, aiming to equip IPs with skills for successful reentry. The role involves developing basic programmatic procedures and coordinating with external agencies such as Community Based Organizations, Adult Probation, Correctional Health, Human Services Agency, and Behavioral Health Recovery Services. This position offers the opportunity to directly impact the lives of incarcerated individuals by assessing needs, preparing reentry plans, and linking individuals to services and support upon release. The role also involves motivating adults to enroll in high school diploma programs and celebrating their achievements. Collaboration with a diverse team of professionals is key. Challenges include managing a caseload with competing deadlines, offering vital resources for reintegration, and working with personnel at all levels within correctional facilities and with various service providers.
