This role is responsible for managing plant capital and expense projects using the Global Project Methodology (Thrive). Project work focuses on capacity improvements, new technology implementation, regulatory compliance, and general plant health. The Improvement Engineer may also take on other project team roles such as Project Engineer, Manufacturing Representative, Process Control Engineer, or Process Engineer, depending on project scope. This position involves managing the administrative aspects of product implementation within the plant, adhering to the plant capital budget, and leading prioritization activities. Key responsibilities include tracking project costs on both Accrual and Cash Out bases, writing and monitoring purchase orders in SAP, and understanding applicable process technology (MASS ABS) and control technology (ABB). The Improvement Engineer will collaborate with Technical Advising and plant personnel to enhance operations and achieve business and plant goals related to production, cost, and quality. This includes participating in advanced troubleshooting, coaching others, implementing best practices for operational optimization, ensuring the Most Effective Technology (MET) and Operating Discipline requirements are met, and updating plant operating procedures with Production Technicians. Safety is a critical component, involving participation in reliability, Process Safety, LPP analysis, LOPA, and Global Mechanical Integrity (GMISS) support. The role also requires networking with other engineers globally to share knowledge on plant operations and communicating technical information to various internal and external stakeholders.
