About The Position

Join our dynamic team in Tewksbury, MA as an Import/Export Coordinator. In this fast-paced contract position, you will play a critical part in preparing, documenting, and coordinating the shipment of goods both domestically and internationally. This role offers hands-on experience with global trade operations, exposure to compliance regulations, and the opportunity to develop specialized logistics skills.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience in domestic and international shipping
  • Knowledge of export documentation, customs processes, commercial invoices, and HS/HTS codes
  • Familiarity with major carriers (UPS, FedEx, DHL) and freight services
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and shipping software
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
  • Physically able to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting and consistently meet deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ERP or warehouse management systems (SAP, Oracle)
  • Forklift certification
  • Understanding of Incoterms and international trade compliance
  • Experience with hazardous materials shipping regulations (or willingness to train)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process shipments in line with customer requirements and export/import regulations
  • Generate and verify key export documents: commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, bills of lading, shipping labels
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure on-time deliveries
  • Monitor shipment status, schedule pickups, and resolve delivery or customs issues rapidly
  • Operate shipping software and ERP systems to accurately process and track orders
  • Maintain organized records of all shipping and export transactions
  • Package products securely and manage inventory of shipping materials
  • Investigate and resolve any shipping discrepancies or delays
  • Support warehouse operations, receiving, and inventory tasks as needed
  • Uphold company safety procedures and quality standards
