About The Position

The Immigration Attorney, Federal Litigation is responsible for managing a diverse caseload of immigration matters and providing high-quality legal representation to clients. This role involves client interaction, case preparation, and collaboration with legal assistants and other attorneys to ensure timely and effective handling of cases. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about helping individuals, families, and businesses navigate the U.S. immigration system. Interact with various outside entities, including but not limited to clients, governmental agencies and officials, U.S. Attorneys Office, DOJ/OIL Attorneys, courts, corporations, and other law firms Draft complex complaints & petitions in immigration Court ( Habeas, Administrative Procedures Act (APA) claims, Mandamus, Petitions for Review (PFR) ). Organize, plan, and schedule cases on priority basis Handle and follow cases from inception to completion within the stipulated time frame Review and approve documents and filings with accuracy Conduct client consultations, assess eligibility, and develop case strategies Maintain communication with clients, providing updates and guidance throughout the process Collaborate with paralegals and legal assistants to ensure accuracy and completeness of filings Conduct legal research and stay current with changes in immigration laws, regulations, and policies Manage deadlines, priorities, and case milestones within case management software

Requirements

  • JD from an accredited law school
  • 1–3 years of experience practicing immigration law
  • Admission to State Bar (Required)
  • Strong knowledge of immigration statutes, regulations, and procedures
  • Excellent legal writing, analytical, and research skills
  • Exceptional communication and client service abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with immigration case management systems
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat, and able to learn new programs, systems, or applications quickly

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with PACER/ECF filing systems is a plus
  • Federal litigation experience is a plus
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required
