About The Position

Greet guests as they enter the theater lobby and usher them safely and courteously into the IMAX theater. Create a positive impression of the Maryland Science Center for our guests through excellent customer service.

Requirements

• Excellent Customer Service skills
• Strong public speaking and interpersonal skills
• Excellent listening and communication skills
• Ability to work weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed
• Ability to work well with large groups of people, including children
• Ability to work well under pressure

Responsibilities

• Usher guests into the IMAX Theater and collect tickets.
• Assist with groups; greet all groups and guests who come to the IMAX theater before presentation begins.
• Open and close the theater.
• Prepare the theater, following the daily schedule, including picking up trash, vacuuming, preparing the glass cleaning machine, and polishing the stanchions.
• Use a handheld radio and flashlight.
• Sit inside the theater while shows are playing.
