About The Position

The Imaging Tech Assistant assists Imaging Technologists and serves as a resource to patients during procedures. The role works with Physicians to communicate and share results with patients. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position in Columbus, Ohio, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Requirements

High school graduation.
Knowledge of safety hazards common to radiology, including radiation safety, equipment safety, body mechanics, and patient movement.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
Ability to apply written guidelines and standardized work practices.
Ability to work on a team and display a positive attitude.
Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing.
Excellent relationship-building skills.

Nice To Haves

Prior healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

Monitor modality schedules to identify exams requiring prior studies for Radiologist review.
Contact outside facilities by phone, fax, and email to request prior exams.
Assist technologists with duties under their direct supervision.
Guide patients to appropriate modality areas.
Prepare patients for radiologic procedures.
Process routine paperwork.
Communicate preparation instructions and facility information to patients as needed.
Work with the Precertification Department to obtain or change exam authorizations.
Communicate with Radiologists, Physicians, and COPC practice.
Monitor exam schedules and retrieve information needed by technologists.
Maintain examination rooms and stock necessary medical and radiologic supplies.
Attend required staff and educational meetings.
Maintain patient confidentiality.
Perform other duties as assigned.
