About The Position

Provides a variety of technical procedures using independent judgment and a basic understanding of technology, anatomy, and physiology. Provides timely, cost-effective quality patient care to aid medical diagnosis under the supervision of a registered technologist. The position supports the CT and Diagnostic Imaging departments and works Monday through Friday from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., with weekend and holiday rotation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Clerical and computer experience.
• Communication and interpersonal skills.
• CPR certification meeting AHA standards, including didactic and skills demonstration components, within 30 days of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
• Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting, with renewal.
• Act 33 clearance, with renewal.
• Act 34 clearance, with renewal.
• Act 73 FBI Clearance, with renewal.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients to and from the unit when required.
• Demonstrates proper placement of an IV catheter and knowledgeably follows GFR criteria guidelines.
• Assists with invasive procedure tray setup and couriers specimens to the lab as needed.
• Follows established MRI safety and radiation safety protocols.
• Schedules and reschedules exams in RIS as needed and contacts patients for additional scanning.
• Assists technologists with patient care and workflow as instructed and understands procedural processes.
• Verifies patient identity using at least two patient identifiers.
• Prepares patients for exams and provides pre- and post-procedure education.
• Documents patient history in the electronic record.
• Reviews physician orders and contacts the physician’s office if additional information is needed.
