Performs assigned patient care and observation duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Radiologic Technologist. This role involves cleaning patient rooms, operating various equipment, assisting with emergencies, and supporting patient flow. The assistant prepares rooms for patients, sets up necessary equipment, and ensures the cleanliness of the environment. They may also assist with preparing patients for procedures and support cost-efficient delivery of care. A key responsibility includes responding to emergency patient situations and initiating life-saving techniques such as CPR. The role requires completing MRI Safety training, adhering to safety measures during patient transport to and from MRI, and understanding the use of MRI-compatible equipment. Maintaining patient confidentiality is crucial. Additional training upon hiring will cover appropriate PPE use, patient moving techniques, and equipment care for telemetry boxes, IV pumps, and oxygen tanks. The position also involves giving and receiving patient schedule information, assisting clinical teams with patient transfers, and escorting patients. Multitasking and prioritizing patient requests based on need are essential. Providing excellent customer service to patients, families, and clinical teams, and communicating the general overview of imaging appointments are also key duties. The assistant helps maintain stocks of supplies, drugs, and linens, and may assist with supply inventory management.
