Performs assigned patient care and observation duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Radiologic Technologist. Responsibilities include cleaning patient rooms, operating various equipment, assisting with emergencies, and managing patient flow. The role involves preparing rooms for patients, setting up necessary equipment, and ensuring cleanliness. It also includes assisting with patient preparation for procedures, supporting cost-efficient care delivery, and participating in quality improvement initiatives. The assistant must respond immediately to emergencies, perform CPR, and complete MRI Safety training, adhering to safety measures during patient transport and using MRI-compatible equipment. Maintaining patient confidentiality is crucial. Additional training will be provided upon hiring for PPE use, patient moving techniques, and equipment care (telemetry boxes, IV pumps, oxygen tanks, etc.). The role also involves providing information regarding patient schedules, assisting clinical teams with patient transfers to and from various equipment and locations, and escorting patients within the facility. Multitasking and prioritizing patient requests based on need are essential. The position requires providing excellent customer service to patients, families, and clinical teams, communicating general overviews of imaging appointments. The assistant works closely with patients, providers, and imaging technologists/nurses, playing a key role in ensuring a positive patient experience. Responsibilities also include maintaining stocks of supplies, drugs, and linens, and potentially assisting with supply inventory management.
