About The Position
Ascension St. Vincent's Saint Johns Hospital is seeking an Imaging Services Assistant to join their team in St. Johns, FL. This PRN position involves guiding patients through radiology procedures, managing safe patient transport, preparing exam rooms, and ensuring radiation safety. The role also includes handling post-procedure workflows such as patient discharge, room sterilization, and inventory restocking.
Requirements
- BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Cross accepted.
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
Responsibilities
- Guided patients through radiology procedures and provided educational materials to ensure clarity and comfort.
- Managed safe patient transport and strictly verified identities according to clinical protocols.
- Partnered with technologists to prepare exam rooms, position patients, and manage medical charts.
- Enforced strict radiation safety guidelines to prevent unnecessary exposure for patients and staff.
- Handled post-procedure workflows, including patient discharge, room sterilization, and inventory restocking.
