About The Position

EmergeOrtho is hiring an Imaging Assistant to transport patients promptly and safely to and from the Radiology Department in accordance with established policies, procedures, and time schedules. The role performs patient screenings before imaging studies and assists clinical staff as requested. The position supports both the Burlington and South Point offices, with the primary work location varying according to clinical needs. The scheduled shift is Sunday through Tuesday, with 12-hour shifts. Training is provided on the job.

Requirements

Comfort using email and interacting with Internet applications.
Knowledge of practice management and word processing software.
Current CPR certification.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
At least one year of customer service experience in a medical office setting or another fast-paced work setting.

Responsibilities

Greet patients and escort them from the waiting room and/or exam room to the Radiology Department.
Prepare patients for studies by dressing them according to safety protocols.
Complete the screening process for all patients before their studies.
Ensure laboratory results are received when required by study protocols.
Verify that scheduled studies have correct orders and insurance authorizations on file before patient arrival, and transmit them to the third-party radiology group.
Use imaging software to transmit images to the third-party radiology group for interpretation.
Take stock inventory and complete ordering as directed by the Clinical Manager.
Communicate with outside facilities and third-party participants to request and maintain accurate records for regulatory compliance.
Maintain compliance with Infection Control guidelines.
Comply with all OSHA mandates.
Perform other duties as required and assigned by the Manager, including schedule changes and travel to office locations.
