About The Position

The IF2 Tech learns, performs, and rotates among packer, scaler, styler, and grader positions. The role helps maintain line speeds at the designated rate for each product. The employee works as part of a team, supports team development and communication, participates in team meetings, and contributes to team cohesion and organizational goals. The position also supports Simmons’ operating systems, including quality, security, workplace environment, and company policies, by following established practices and communicating concerns and improvement ideas. Other duties may be assigned in support of business objectives.

Requirements

• Ability to move, push, or pull up to 70 pounds from a table to scales at waste level.
• Ability to bend, stoop, walk, climb stairs, and stand and work in a cold, wet, noisy, dusty environment for 8–12-hour shifts.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred experience in manufacturing.
• Preference for experience in a poultry or food processing organization.
• Military experience is valued; veterans are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Rotate among packer, scaler, styler, and grader positions as needed.
• Maintain line speeds at the designated rate for each product.
• Use both hands to spread product on a moving conveyor belt at a fast pace.
• Perform hand packing and operate packaging machinery for multiple types of packing.
• Inspect and grade products, removing items that do not meet standards.
• Participate in team development, communication, implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies, and appropriate team meetings.
• Coordinate work with team members to support B.E.S.T. practices and team cohesion; identify and help resolve issues affecting cohesion.
• Follow and support Simmons’ established operating systems, including quality, security, workplace environment, and company policies; communicate concerns and ideas for improvement.
• Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
