About The Position

The IF2 Tech learns, performs, and rotates among packer, scaler, styler, and grader positions. The role helps maintain the designated line speed for each product as needed. Work includes handling product on a moving conveyor, packing by hand and with packaging machines, and inspecting and grading product to remove items that do not meet standards.

The position contributes as a member of the team by participating in team development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies; coordinating work to support B.E.S.T. practices; attending team meetings; and helping address issues that affect team cohesiveness. The role also supports Simmons operating systems, including quality, security, office environment, and company policies, and communicates concerns and improvement ideas. Other duties may be performed in support of business objectives.

Requirements

• Ability to move, push, or pull up to 70 pounds from a table to scales at waist level.
• Ability to bend, stoop, walk, climb stairs, and stand while working in a cold, wet, noisy, and dusty environment for 8–12-hour shifts.

• Preferred experience in the manufacturing industry.
• Preference for experience in a poultry or food processing organization.

Responsibilities

• Rotate among packer, scaler, styler, and grader positions and learn to perform their duties.
• Help maintain the designated line speed for the product being processed.
• Use both hands to spread product on a moving conveyor belt at a fast pace.
• Pack products by hand and using packaging machines.
• Inspect and grade products and remove those that do not meet standards.
• Participate in team development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies.
• Coordinate work with team members to support B.E.S.T. practices and attend appropriate team meetings.
• Identify and raise issues that affect team cohesiveness and work with the team to resolve them.
• Support Simmons operating systems, including quality, security, office environment, and company policies; communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
• Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
