About The Position

The IAM Business Team Lead & Engineering Coordinator guides a cross‑functional team delivering Identity & Access Management solutions that align technical engineering capabilities with business objectives and priorities. This role helps balance security, business needs, and engineering execution to deliver secure, scalable, and compliant access across the enterprise. The Team Lead provides day‑to‑day technical and business leadership to IAM Engineers and Business Analysts, supporting high‑quality delivery of IAM services, governance implementation, lifecycle automation, and access management initiatives. Acting as a subject matter expert, mentor, and escalation point, the role works closely with IT, Cybersecurity, and business stakeholders to support consistent execution and operational success.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare IT OR identity and access management role or eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare IT or identity and access management role.
  • Certified Access Management Specialist (CAMS) or equivalent industry standard information security certification.
  • Certified Identity Management Professional (CIMP) or equivalent industry standard information security certification within one (1) year of hire date.
  • Proficient with Active Directory and healthcare application access management.
  • Hands‑on experience with IAM platforms such as SailPoint, Okta, CyberArk, Ping, or Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Experience supporting IAM governance, access reviews, and risk‑based exception processes.
  • Experience triaging, prioritizing, and resolving IAM requests and escalations.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Information Security, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience leading or guiding IAM or engineering teams in a technical leadership role.
  • CISM or equivalent industry standard information security certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily guidance, mentoring, and technical direction to IAM Engineers and Business Analysts, supporting skill development and consistent delivery.
  • Support and guide day‑to‑day execution of IAM work streams, reviewing technical output and completion of assigned deliverables.
  • Triage incoming IAM requests and escalations, helping ensure work is clearly scoped, prioritized, and assigned.
  • Foster a collaborative, high‑performance team culture focused on continuous improvement, accountability, and innovation.
  • Lead and support the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of IAM solutions, including configuration changes and enhancements, in alignment with established standards and architecture.
  • Review IAM solution designs, access models, and exception recommendations to ensure alignment with governance expectations and organizational risk tolerance.
  • Serve as a key escalation point during IAM‑related incidents, supporting root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventative improvements.
  • Coordinate across teams to help ensure IAM policies, standards, and controls are applied consistently in support of business and operational needs.
  • Serve as the Identity & Access Management (IAM) subject matter expert and primary voice during project meetings, providing guidance on access controls, security requirements, and best practices.
  • Track progress, help remove blockers, and ensure team deliverables meet quality and timeline expectations.
  • Drive forward‑thinking IAM automation initiatives, with a focus on Identity Governance & Administration (IGA), including RBAC, birthright access, and rule‑based security models.
  • Stay current on security trends, emerging IAM technologies, and evolving identity threats, applying relevant insights to solution design and team practices.
  • Contribute operational metrics and insights to support KPI reporting and IAM maturity assessments.
  • Translate complex IAM concepts into clear, business‑friendly language to support informed decision‑making.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing use of IAM policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
  • Manage multiple projects, incidents, and escalations simultaneously with strong prioritization and follow‑through.
  • Apply risk‑based thinking when reviewing IAM exceptions, access requests, and architecture changes.
  • Serve as a senior technical advisor to the team on IAM technologies, standards, and best practices.
  • Build strong working relationships with stakeholders by managing expectations and communicating risks and constraints clearly.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement, automation, and increased IAM governance maturity.
