About The Position

We are seeking per diem experienced Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurses (RN) to provide critical care to seriously ill or injured patients in our 3-bed ICU within a critical access hospital. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a close-knit environment where your clinical judgment, adaptability, and teamwork make a meaningful impact every day. As an ICU nurse, you will care for a variety of patient populations, including post-surgical and medical patients, while also supporting care across our mixed-acuity inpatient unit.   • Assesses patient data, identifies care needs, and delivers care in accordance with hospital policies and standards

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and evaluate patient status, identifying both subtle and acute changes in condition
  • Provide continuous, high-quality care throughout the patient’s ICU stay and recovery
  • Respond effectively to medical emergencies and collaborate closely with physicians and care teams
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans using multidisciplinary resources
  • Prioritize care for patients with complex and evolving conditions
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families
  • Serve as an educator for patients, families, and peers
  • Delegate tasks appropriately and ensure completion
  • Apply critical thinking to determine appropriate interventions and timing of care
  • Administer medications safely and evaluate patient response
  • Maintain compliance with clinical standards, policies, and continuing education requirements
  • Participate in professional development, quality improvement initiatives, and team collaboration
  • Contribute ideas to improve patient care and support research/data collection efforts
