About The Position

We are seeking a qualified ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a mixed Intensive Care Unit that includes MICU, SICU, CICU, and TICU pods. The facility features 39 beds and provides care for complex ICU patients, including surgical, medical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma patients. Patient Types include complex ICU patients such as those with ARDS, Myocardial Infarction (MI), Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA)/Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA), COVID-19, post-cardiac catheterization, post-surgical patients, and multiple system and heavy trauma cases.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience preferred (excluding travel experience). Under 2 years of ICU experience may be considered with significant RN experience in other areas.
Completion of a nursing education program approved by a Board of Nursing.
Registered Nurse (RN) license active in South Dakota.
BLS certification.
ACLS certification.
NIHSS certification.
TNCC certification.
Epic experience is required.
Ability to manage IV medications (vasopressors, sedation, paralytics) and hemodynamic lines.
Experience with ventilator management, telemetry, and proning.
Strong critical thinking and assessment skills.
Comfortable in a fast-paced setting with critically ill patients.
Travelers must reside at least 100 miles away from any facility.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Care for complex ICU patients including ARDS, Myocardial Infarction (MI), Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA)/Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA), COVID-19, post-cardiac catheterization, post-surgical patients, and multiple system and heavy trauma cases.
Manage IV medications (vasopressors, sedation, paralytics) and hemodynamic lines.
Perform ventilator management, telemetry monitoring, and proning.
Precept nursing students may arise.
Manage IV/VAT Team issues.
