About The Position
We are seeking a dedicated ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join the clinical team. The ideal candidate has critical care experience and is prepared to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. The ICU has 12 beds and a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2. An in-house hospitalist/intensivist and respiratory therapy available 24/7 support the unit. There is no charge nurse assignment, no nurse aides, and no telemetry/monitor technicians; RNs must read their own strips. Self-scheduling and block scheduling are allowed. The role includes at least six weekend shifts per six-week schedule and holiday work. Call/standby and floating requirements are determined by the Nurse Manager; floating may be within Zone 1. The dress code is navy-blue scrubs. Unit- and department-specific orientation dates and locations are assigned during the week of orientation.
Requirements
- Critical care/ICU experience.
- BLS certification.
- ACLS certification.
- NIHSS certification.
- Ability to titrate drips, including vasopressors, inotropes, sedatives, analgesics, metabolic drips, and specialized support drips.
- Ability to read telemetry strips.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality patient care in the ICU.
- Read patients’ telemetry strips.
- Titrate required medication drips.
- Work at least six weekend shifts per six-week schedule and on holidays.
- Float as determined by the Nurse Manager, potentially within Zone 1.
