Requirements

  • BSN or currently enrolled.
  • DC RN License, or eligibility
  • Critical Care experience: 2 year full time experience or 4 years part time experience
  • BLS
  • ACLS

Responsibilities

  • Deliver compassionate and evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
  • Utilize advanced monitoring technology to assess and interpret vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and other relevant data. Respond promptly to changes in patient status.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive and effective patient care.
  • Apply advanced critical thinking skills in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans for complex medical conditions.
  • Serve as an advocate for patients and their families, providing emotional support and ensuring their needs are met throughout the care journey.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Provide patient and family education on medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
  • Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and contribute to the ongoing improvement of nursing practices within the ICU.
