About The Position

This is a self-scheduling full-time position for an ICU/Critical Care Registered Nurse within the Western Market Regional Resource Pool, serving Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital (SMJH), Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center (SNVMC), and Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital (SRMH). The role offers a flexible work schedule, self-scheduling capabilities, premium pay, and a resource pool differential. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. Professional performance standards encompass ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health. The RN must possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards for specific clinical areas. The position requires the nurse to work in all units for which they are qualified and a minimum of two different units. The nurse must reside within 75 miles and 90 minutes of two hospitals in the Northern Virginia or Blue Ridge region.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse Diploma (Required)
  • Registered Nurse License (Required)
  • Minimum of 18 months of acute care RN experience.
  • Available to work 36 hours per week (Full-time status).
  • Minimum of 144 hours per month scheduled.
  • 48 hours scheduled on a weekend shift.
  • 48 hours scheduled on an off shift (any shifts that start after 3pm).
  • Must reside within 75 miles and 90 minutes of two hospitals in the Northern Virginia or Blue Ridge region: Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA; Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA; and Sentara Martha Jefferson in Charlottesville, VA.
