About The Position

This is a self-scheduling full-time position for an ICU/Critical Care Registered Nurse within the Western Market Regional Resource Pool. The role involves working across multiple Sentara hospitals (SMJH, SRMH, or SNVMC) and offers flexible work schedules, self-scheduling, premium pay, and a resource pool differential. Team members are required to pre-schedule at least 144 hours per calendar month (36 hours/week) and must provide availability no more than two weeks in advance. The position requires nurses to work in all units for which they are qualified, with a minimum of two different units. Additionally, nurses must reside within 75 miles and 90 minutes of two of the specified hospitals: Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA; Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA; and Sentara Martha Jefferson in Charlottesville, VA. The Registered Nurse is responsible for competent nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. Professional performance standards encompass ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health. The RN must possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards for specific clinical areas.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 18 months of acute care RN experience.
  • Registered Nurse Diploma
  • Registered Nurse License
  • BLS within 90 days of hire.
  • Available to work 36 hours per week (Full-time status, a minimum of 144 hours per month).
  • Of the 144 hours, 48 hours must be scheduled on a weekend shift and 48 hours on an off shift (any shifts that start after 3pm).
  • Must reside within 75 miles and 90 minutes of two hospitals in the Northern Virginia or Blue Ridge region: Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA; Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA; and Sentara Martha Jefferson in Charlottesville, VA.
