About The Position

The ICU Clinical Coordinator - Pharmacy role at the University of Miami involves collaborating with healthcare providers to optimize patient care. Requirements

  • PharmD Degree required.
  • Pharmacist license required.
  • Three years of relevant work experience required.
  • Strong work ethic and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable in all pharmacy procedures and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Works collaboratively with all health care providers to optimize patient care.
  • Advises physicians on the inherent dangers of drugs, incorrect prescription doses and their eventual side effects.
  • Promotes improvement in drug usage / dosage and in the supervision of therapeutic procedures for best results.
  • Coordinates the pharmacy duties, including the preparation, labeling and delivery of various medications or supplies according to prescriptions.
  • Ensures all dispensed drugs are recorded and delivered in accordance with local, state and federal laws or regulations.
  • Observes and treats patients in all health care settings and conducts research to further pharmaceutical care and advance the treatment and prevention of disease.
  • Individualizes medication regimens using sound principles, accounting for pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic variations in drug absorption.
  • Suggests improvement in work methods.
  • Conducts and evaluates medication histories, assesses compliance and suggests modifications to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
