About The Position

Frontex is seeking an experienced ICT Infrastructure Architect for a long-term mission at their Headquarters in Warsaw. This role involves a hybrid work model, with 40% onsite and 60% remote. The architect will be responsible for designing and setting standards for enterprise core ICT systems, focusing on on-premises and hybrid architectures, Kubernetes, Windows/Linux platforms, and Red Hat OpenShift. The mission duration is 54 months, requiring a minimum of 8 years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in similar roles. The position requires a minimum education level of 7 and B2 English language skills.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of IT relevant experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in similar roles.
  • Minimum level of education: Level 7.
  • Minimum English language skills: B2 (CEFR).
  • Hold at least 2 of the following certifications (or equivalent): VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV), Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA), Iasa Architect CITA-A.
  • Experience acting as key architect in at least two enterprise-wide ICT systems migrations and core ICT systems deployments.
  • Expertise in hybrid systems architecture within enterprise environments.
  • Strong experience designing enterprise-level core ICT systems and infrastructure solutions.
  • Experience planning capacity, scalability and security of integration platform capabilities.
  • Good knowledge of virtualization, containerization, on-premises and cloud infrastructure environments.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of Identity Management and Active Directory, Microsoft System Center, databases, application servers, systems and application monitoring, middleware, modern workplace solutions, cloud integration patterns, cloud migration frameworks, systems integration, software and asset management.
  • Sound knowledge of systems design using UML methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ICT process design and implementation aligned with ITIL v4 practices.
  • Proficiency using enterprise architecture and modelling tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect, ARIS Architect or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps methodologies and practices.
  • Knowledge of architecture standards and frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, Azure Well-Architected Framework or similar.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent documentation and reporting capabilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to coordinate technical teams and initiatives.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with modelling using ArchiMate.
  • Experience designing, configuring and maintaining Azure or AWS Landing Zones.
  • Practical experience with Kubernetes and enterprise container platforms, including Red Hat OpenShift (RHOS).
  • Strong experience administering and supporting Windows and Linux enterprise environments.
  • Experience designing secure and scalable hybrid infrastructure solutions integrating on-premises and cloud services.
  • Practical experience contributing to enterprise architecture governance and lifecycle management.
  • Experience analysing infrastructure metrics and optimizing systems from performance, scalability and security perspectives.

Responsibilities

  • Set standards in scope of architecture, design, development, quality assurance and testing.

  • Optimise systems from performance, scalability, security and quality perspectives.
  • Contribute to the Enterprise Architecture repository and maintain architecture artefacts such as ICT baselines and technology catalogues.
  • Support DevSecOps and automation initiatives across infrastructure and platform services.
  • Perform other architecture and infrastructure-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
