Ice Technician
About The Position
The Ice Technician performs daily activities to maintain proper ice conditions and ice-maintenance equipment in accordance with facility standards, while supporting other operations in a manner consistent with The Rinks’ values. The role operates and maintains ice-resurfacing equipment, monitors ice and facility conditions, supports events and general maintenance, and helps provide a safe, welcoming experience for Guests and Associates. The position is on-site and requires a flexible schedule that may include varying days and hours, weekends, holidays, and nights. The starting hourly rate is $23.00. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, complete Ice Maintenance training with a certified The Rinks Maintenance Associate within a 90-day training period, and pass written, oral, and practical Zamboni and Ice Maintenance examinations with a score of 80% or higher. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; 0–1 year of experience is listed.
Requirements

Responsibilities
- Operate ice-resurfacing machines professionally, efficiently, and safely.
- Coordinate maintenance of on-ice and off-ice issues and contribute to on-ice and off-ice events and activities.
- Safeguard public sessions, monitor activity on the ice and in other controlled areas, and provide Guest service.
- Follow first aid and emergency guidelines and procedures.
- Follow OSHA safety standards and promptly communicate safety or security problems to a Supervisor or Lead.
- Maintain ice-related equipment in safe, operable condition; report repairs or issues to the Supervisor or Lead and General Manager.
- Use ice-resurfacing equipment according to safety standards and manufacturer specifications, and assist with equipment repairs as required.
- Complete daily ice-maintenance voltmeter, hydrometer, and compressor readings.
- Edge the ice daily and monitor ice conditions, removing debris from the ice surface and surrounding areas.
- Assist with air-quality documentation by recording meter readings.
- Maintain housekeeping standards throughout facility areas, including the Zamboni room, compressor room, lobby, bleachers, restrooms, meeting spaces, locker rooms, and offices.
- Assist with facility maintenance projects and general maintenance.
- Set up and maintain facility signage and displays where applicable.
- Maintain ice resurfacers according to the daily maintenance logbook and document necessary repairs or recommendations.
- Follow all The Rinks policies and procedures and perform other duties as assigned.
