About The Position

SPS is seeking dependable, safety-minded, and detail-oriented individuals to join the operations team at The Rink at Rockefeller Center for the 2026–27 season, from October through early spring. Ice Technicians help maintain the quality, safety, and presentation of the ice and surrounding venue while supporting smooth day-to-day rink operations. The hands-on role focuses on operating the ice resurfacer, completing ice maintenance, monitoring conditions, and keeping the rink and adjacent areas clean, safe, and guest-ready. Technicians may also assist with Skate House responsibilities and light repairs involving lockers, facilities, rental skates, and other rink equipment. The Rink is a seasonal cold-weather operation that runs rain or shine throughout winter. The role involves working indoors and outdoors in cold temperatures and changing weather, including rain, snow, and wind. A portion of each shift may be spent on or near the ice; an insulated winter jacket and vest will be provided. Schedules may include early mornings, daytime hours, evenings, late nights, weekends, holidays, and other high-volume periods. Weekend and holiday availability is required, and dependable morning and late-night availability is strongly preferred. Ice Technicians help ensure that the ice surface, equipment, and surrounding areas meet The Rink’s safety, operational, and presentation standards. They work in and around guests and must operate equipment with constant awareness of everyone on and near the ice. They are also guest-facing team members expected to provide a warm, professional presence and may be asked to fill in at other positions at The Rink as needed.
