About The Position
The Ice Cream Host interacts directly with customers at the service bar by answering questions, offering recommendations, and preparing ice cream. This is an entry-level seasonal hourly position at Stew Leonard’s, a family-owned fresh food store with a country-fair atmosphere and animated entertainment.
Requirements
- No prior experience is required.
- Safely use tools and equipment used in the daily operation of the department.
- Demonstrate strong customer service and oral communication skills.
- Be flexible and able to work as part of a team.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic, problem-solving ability, self-motivation, and honesty.
- Frequently walk, stand, reach, and bend; occasionally lift up to 30 pounds; and perform repetitive arm and hand motions.
Responsibilities
- Make ice cream cones and cups according to customers’ choices.
- Package ice cream in quarts and package cookies, waffles, and other products for the display case.
- Make candy apples, caramel apples, and other holiday sweets.
- Assist in the coffee area when needed.
- Greet customers, answer questions, and provide exceptional customer service.
- Select, package, and price products ordered by customers at the service bar.
- Clean equipment.
- Operate the cash register and receive payment in various forms.
- Follow health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
