About The Position

Sundae is looking for a candidate to join their team as an Ice Cream Class Instructor for their new flagship location in Downtown Denver. This is a part-time, non-exempt, hourly position with a compensation range of $23.50 - $25.00 per hour. The role requires weekend and evening availability. Sundae is an established artisan ice cream business with a mission to share joy, one scoop at a time, and aims to be a great place to work by providing a fun workplace, career advancement, and community involvement.

Requirements

  • Teaching or instructional experience or equivalent required.
  • Must be 18 or older.
  • Ability to communicate with clients confidently and professionally.
  • Must be comfortable engaging with and communicating with a wide range of ages from 6 to 99.
  • Move, traverse or remain in a stationary position for up to 8 hours.
  • Use manual and automatic food service equipment.
  • Occasionally move up to 25 pounds for a distance of 50 feet or more.
  • Occasionally ascend/descend ladder to clean or lift items stored above.
  • Occasionally position self to clean, maintain equipment, and retrieve items below counter height.

Nice To Haves

  • Baking and pastry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and manage all classroom operations, leading engaging and interactive classes of up to 8 guests.
  • Teach and demonstrate fundamental and advanced ice cream techniques, following provided class outlines and materials.
  • Represent the Sundae brand and culture by creating memorable educational experiences.
  • Prepare and organize the classroom, coordinating with the production department for product availability.
  • Check in guests for each class, ensuring all required items are complete.
  • Accommodate guest needs, varying age groups, and learning styles with patience.
  • Properly handle all tools, ingredients, and kitchen equipment to maintain a safe and efficient environment.
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of the Sundae brand and products.
  • Uphold exceptional cleanliness, organization, and appearance throughout the classroom facility to meet food safety requirements.
  • Maintain inventory levels, minimize waste, and control classroom supply expenses.
  • Adhere to all Sundae policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Report directly to the Pastry Chef and participate in regular staff meetings.
