About The Position

The I&C Technician role is for an outage scheduled from mid-September to mid-October. This position will be onsite in Bridgman, MI, and the technician will report to a client supervisor. Requirements

  • Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Two years' experience in Instrumentation and Controls or a related field.
  • Ability to pass criminal background, drug/alcohol screen (including medical and recreational marijuana and CBD oil), and employment testing.
  • Ability to be qualified to work within the radiological controlled area.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in the nuclear power industry.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of electronic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic process instrumentation systems.
  • Service microprocessor-controlled radiation monitoring systems and electronic nuclear instrumentation systems.
  • Test, calibrate, and repair pneumatic and electronic transmitters, indicators, converters, and switches.
  • Maintain PA and telephone communication systems, heat trace circuits, trace control units, and alarm modules.
  • Repair electronic and pneumatic controllers and microprocessor-based recorders.
  • Analyze, test, and repair solid-state reactor protection systems, rod control systems, and rod position indicator systems.
  • Install design changes on electronic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic instrumentation equipment, including wiring modifications, cable testing, wire terminations, print changes, and installation of piping, tubing, and fittings.
  • Assist engineers and vendor technical representatives in data collection, troubleshooting, repairing, adjusting, and testing of specialized complex equipment and systems.
  • Report errors, damaged, broken, or out-of-specification equipment, and any other abnormal conditions.
  • Stand for long periods, work in warm environments, climb ladders and stairways, ascend and descend scaffolding, and enter tight/congested areas.
