About The Position

The Plant Supervisor supports the operation and maintenance of Luminant Power Generating Stations. The role may require travel to support other stations. It may involve supervising and directing multi-skill production and maintenance personnel to help achieve reliable and safe operation of generating units, as well as planning and scheduling work at the plant site. The supervisor may also be asked to respond to emergency callouts and assist with troubleshooting system problems.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 5–7 years of power generation plant experience.
• Experience using Maximo to plan work, create purchase requests, and create job plans.
• Experience with WST, Luminant’s preferred scheduling tool.
• Leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills relevant to power generation plant supervision.
• Good computer skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience with computer maintenance management systems and an understanding of PMMS and/or Maximo programs.

Nice To Haves

• Operations and maintenance experience at a power plant, particularly control operator experience on a unit with a drum boiler.
• Technical or Instrumentation and Control background.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operation and maintenance of a generating station.
• Supervise and direct multi-skill production and maintenance support personnel to promote reliable and safe operation of generating units.
• Manage employee and labor relations in accordance with company policies and applicable labor agreements.
• Ensure and monitor safety and environmental, regulatory, administrative, and procedural compliance, including documentation.
• Assist in coordinating and implementing special projects.
• Respond to emergency callout situations and assist in troubleshooting system problems when requested.
• Interface with outside vendors and contractors.
• Plan and schedule work for the plant site.
• Help establish plant-level ownership of budget performance and control spending.
