About The Position

The I&C Design Engineer SME-Nuclear will be responsible for reviewing and producing Engineering Change Basedocs, managing Equipment Database records, developing Electrical Elementary Diagrams and Connection Diagrams, and maintaining Wiretabs, Bill of Materials, and Cable Cards. This role requires solving complex problems in engineering areas of specialization with limited supervision, applying fundamental concepts and procedures to progressively complex and varied work. The position demands a strong background with digital control and data acquisition systems, distributed I&C system platforms, Operator Aid Computer, plant network systems, and security computer systems, along with an understanding of industry cyber security design requirements. Familiarity with computer networks and operating systems, as well as knowledge of real-time/data acquisition/control systems (hardware, software, and interfaces) is essential. The ability to read Plant Drawings including Control Wiring Diagrams, One-line diagrams, and Logic Diagrams is also required. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to work as part of a team, and exercise flexibility. Safety Gloves are required for this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • Strong background with digital control and data acquisition systems, distributed I&C system platforms, Operator Aid Computer, plant network systems, and security computer systems.
  • Understanding of industry cyber security design requirements.
  • Familiarity with computer networks and operating systems.
  • Knowledge of real time/data acquisition/control systems, including hardware, software, and interfaces.
  • Ability to read Plant Drawings including Control Wiring Diagrams, One-line diagrams, and Logic Diagrams.
  • Ability to work on assigned projects with minimal supervision.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work as part of a team and exercise flexibility.
  • 15+ years of discipline experience and unique SME skills.

  • Knowledge of the Standard Design Process.
  • Preparation of Engineering Changes (CO-FLT-ENG-2000 Design Change).
  • Digital EC (FLT-ENG-DIGITAL-EC).
  • Design Verification (CO-FLT-ENG-2050 Design Verification).
  • Applicability Determination Preparer (CO-FLT-AD) and 50.59 Screener (CO-FLT-50.59-SCR).
  • Experience at a Nuclear Site.
  • Prior experience with the organization.
