About The Position

Badger is hiring a Hydrovac Operator to operate hydrovac equipment using high-pressure water and vacuum systems to excavate precisely, uncover utilities, and support construction projects. The role involves working in a variety of environments, including confined spaces, and driving hydrovac trucks for approximately 10–15% of total work time. Union wages and benefits will be discussed directly with the Branch Manager. This position is in a region covered by a collective bargaining agreement, and the successful applicant may be required to join the union as a condition of employment.

Requirements

Must have a valid Class A or B CDL.
Ability to work variable shifts with extended hours.
Must be willing to travel up to 25%.
Must be able to lift, push, and pull 50+ pounds and have the physical stamina for manual labor in varying weather conditions.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Customer-service focused and comfortable interacting with customers.
Enthusiasm for working as part of a safety-focused, collaborative team.
Technology adept.
Candidates must undergo a physical examination and complete pre-employment screenings, including a driver's abstract review and drug and alcohol test.

Nice To Haves

CPR/First Aid, Fall Protection, and OSHA 10 certifications are preferred.
Experience driving a manual transmission (10–18 speed) without automatic restrictions is preferred.
Prior hydrovac equipment operation or related industrial experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate hydrovac equipment and perform hydrovac duties in a variety of working environments, including confined spaces.
Drive hydrovac trucks, approximately 10–15% of total work time.
Attend safety meetings.
Perform routine inspections and minor repairs of hydrovac equipment.
Prepare work areas by setting up safety measures and addressing potential hazards.
Accurately and efficiently document and report Badger, Federal, State, and Customer paperwork.
