About The Position

Badger is seeking a Hydrovac Operator to operate hydrovac equipment using high-pressure water and vacuum systems for precise excavation, utility uncovering, and construction projects. The work takes place in a variety of environments, including confined spaces. Operators also drive hydrovac trucks for approximately 10–15% of their total work time. The role requires attention to safety, accurate documentation, customer interaction, and physical work in varying weather conditions. Travel of up to 25% and variable shifts with extended hours are required. Personal protective equipment is provided. Candidates will undergo a physical examination and pre-employment screening, including a driver’s abstract review and drug and alcohol test.

Requirements

• Valid Class A or B CDL.
• Ability to work variable shifts with extended hours.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull 50+ pounds and physical stamina for manual labor in varying weather conditions.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Customer-service focus and comfort interacting with customers.
• Enthusiasm for working as part of a safety-focused, collaborative team.
• Technology adeptness.
• Completion of a physical examination and pre-employment screenings, including a driver’s abstract review and drug and alcohol test.

Nice To Haves

• CPR/First Aid, Fall Protection, and OSHA 10 certifications.
• Experience driving a manual transmission (10–18 speed) without automatic restrictions.
• Prior hydrovac equipment operation or related industrial experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate hydrovac equipment and perform hydrovac duties in varied working environments, including confined spaces.
• Drive hydrovac trucks, approximately 10–15% of total work time.
• Attend safety meetings.
• Perform routine inspections and minor repairs of hydrovac equipment.
• Prepare work areas by setting up safety measures and addressing potential hazards.
• Accurately and efficiently document and report Badger, Federal, State, and Customer paperwork.
