About The Position

Volumetric Building Companies (VBC), a global volumetric construction company, is hiring an HVAC Technician to install HVAC units and systems in new-construction modular buildings. The role focuses on modular multifamily homes and includes installing HVAC equipment, ductwork, and thermostats, as well as working with systems such as PTAC units, heat pumps, and ERV systems. The position is based onsite at the Berwick facility and includes work in a manufacturing plant environment, with occasional exposure to a general office setting. The scheduled hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; occasional overtime may be requested, with some overtime extending the day to 4:30 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or vocational education; equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications, and/or experience may be considered.
• At least 1 year of direct experience working with HVAC systems.
• Mechanically inclined, with excellent mechanical skills.
• Dependable and punctual.
• Ability to use power and hand tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn, retain knowledge, and follow instructions.
• Ability to work independently and with a work crew.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds regularly.
• Ability to climb stairs and ramps; stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk, squat, lift, and grasp; and speak, hear, and see objects.
• Ability to respond quickly to sounds and see and respond to dangerous situations.
• Ability to work safely in confined spaces and remain on one's feet for extended periods.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Proficient knowledge of tooling and fixturing, their intended use, and tool accountability.

Nice To Haves

• HVAC certification preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems and equipment preferred.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints desired.

Responsibilities

• Install new HVAC units in modular multifamily homes under construction.
• Install ductwork and thermostats to control HVAC systems.
• Install various HVAC systems, including PTAC units, heat pumps, and ERV systems.
• Comply with company and industry safety standards.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
