About The Position

The HVAC Technician 1 demonstrates professionalism through positive communication and appearance while providing exemplary customer service. The role delivers and installs portable HVAC equipment, demonstrates safe equipment operation to authorized operators or customers, and develops skills in the use, operation, troubleshooting, and repair of company equipment. The position works primarily in the shop, keeping it organized, clean, and safe; learning to check in, clean, and prepare equipment for rental; and supporting other technicians on large jobs.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in a service-related role interacting with customers.
• Basic math skills.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record free from points.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must be able to work some after-hours and weekend hours during peak times.

Responsibilities

• Communicate professionally with customers, managers, and sales engineers to schedule deliveries, pickups, and service calls.
• Deliver and install rented HVAC equipment and train authorized operators or customers in its safe use.
• Direct customers to sign appropriate paperwork and track equipment serial numbers.
• Troubleshoot the operation, function, specifications, capabilities, and controls of rental equipment.
• Operate company vehicles safely and follow company safety policies.
• Clean and test returned equipment to ensure its operation and appearance meet standards.
• Complete appropriate paperwork for deliveries, pickups, and service calls.
• Install flexible gas hose for propane and natural gas applications.
• Use proper and safe procedures to check gas connections.
• Work with managers and sales engineers to maintain accurate records and tracking of in-stock and rented equipment.
• Provide emergency service on call and respond according to a rotating schedule that includes weekends and evenings.
• Keep the shop organized, clean, and safe; learn to check in, clean, and prepare rental equipment; and support other technicians on large jobs.
