About The Position

Hammond Services, a family-owned and operated Heating, Cooling, Plumbing, and Electrical company serving South & West Metro Atlanta since 1979, is seeking qualified HVAC Service Technicians. This role offers strong pay, consistent work, and long-term career growth with a company that values craftsmanship and integrity. The position requires travel to the Griffin office for on-the-job training, potentially up to 6 weeks.

Requirements

  • At least 3+ years of HVAC residential and/or light commercial field experience required.
  • Obtain the appropriate certifications (EPA Type I, II, III or Universal).
  • Have a valid driver’s license and meet auto insurance requirements (minimum age to drive 22 years old).
  • Be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal background check.
  • Effectively manage call volume and day-to-day tasks; be able to work flexible schedules including overtime, as needed.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of HVAC schooling, preferred.
  • Other HVAC certifications are a PLUS!

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, replace, and troubleshoot residential and light commercial HVAC systems.
  • Repair or service heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to improve efficiency, such as by changing filters, cleaning condenser and coils using approved methods and chemicals.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on residential systems with minimal assistance and supervision while sustaining a positive attitude with the customers you service.
  • Discuss heating or cooling system malfunctions with customers to avoid future problems.
  • Use of software to report work completed and collect customer payments (COD).
  • Collaborate with other technicians to complete installations and repairs efficiently.
