This specific role, HVAC Service Operations Manager, provides leadership and accountability for the successful delivery, growth, and profitability of the Service business. The manager will oversee people, processes, and performance to ensure consistent service excellence, strong financial results, and a safe, customer-focused operation. Requirements

  • Technical school training or equivalent experience in the HVAC or building controls industry.
  • Three (3) or more years of management experience in a service delivery environment.
  • Strong ability to prioritize work, manage scheduling, and lead a diverse team.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication.
  • Basic financial and accounting knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and a Windows‑based environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Diploma in Electronic or Mechanical Systems.
  • Two (2) or more years of hands‑on experience in HVAC or building controls.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in a service management role leading a comparable service delivery team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and accountability for the successful delivery, growth, and profitability of the Service business.
  • Oversee people, processes, and performance to ensure consistent service excellence, strong financial results, and a safe, customer‑focused operation.
  • Set, track, and achieve gross margin and profitability goals across customer accounts, including Planned Service Agreements (PSAs) and Labor & Materials (L&M) work.
  • Drive L&M revenue growth through effective leadership of Technicians and Team Leads.
  • Review, approve, and ensure accuracy of all L&M quotations.
  • Own budgeting, forecasting, and oversight of accounts payable and receivable activities.
  • Lead execution of assigned Service business, including resolution of warranty‑related customer issues.
  • Ensure consistent and high‑quality service delivery through direct supervision, audits, and performance management of Technicians, Customer Service Agents, and related staff.
  • Procure and maintain fleet vehicles and tools inventory to support operational readiness and efficiency.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels to support current and future business needs.
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, training, and transition of new employees.
  • Manage day‑to‑day team performance, conduct formal performance reviews, and address employee‑related issues as needed.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high‑performing service culture.
  • Own safety performance and ensure full compliance with company safety programs and standards.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture that protects employees, customers, and assets.
