About The Position

Holt is seeking skilled and motivated HVAC professionals for a full-time HVAC Selling Technician role in Des Moines. This position involves hands-on residential HVAC service combined with a consultative sales approach. The technician will diagnose system issues, present repair and replacement options, and guide homeowners in making decisions to enhance comfort, efficiency, and system reliability. Some evening hours are necessary to accommodate customer schedules. Integrity, honesty, and genuine customer care are core values for this role.

Requirements

• 5+ years of residential HVAC service experience preferred
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Sales-minded approach with a goal-oriented attitude
• Comfort working independently in customers’ homes
• Ability to explain technical information clearly and professionally
• Strong computer, communication, and customer service skills
• Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening per state law

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, and maintain residential HVAC systems
• Present repair, replacement, and upgrade options directly to homeowners
• Build trust with customers through honest recommendations and clear communication
• Perform system evaluations, including heat load and loss calculations (or learn to do so)
• Manage opportunities from initial diagnosis through completion of work
• Provide an exceptional in-home customer experience while meeting performance goals
