About The Position

Summers Plumbing, Heating and Cooling is hiring for its Sales Tech group. The position is intended for HVAC technicians looking to move into selling equipment or Selling Technicians seeking more opportunities. It offers hourly pay plus commissions, bonuses, and spiffs. Training to expand knowledge and areas of expertise will be provided, with further certification expected.

The role involves assessing residential HVAC service needs, troubleshooting and repairing a variety of residential systems, and installing supporting indoor air quality products according to manufacturer specifications and applicable codes. Employees interact with customers in homes and businesses and are expected to communicate professionally and respectfully with customers, office staff, and coworkers.

Requirements

• Currently able to troubleshoot and repair a variety of residential HVAC systems.
• Able to install supporting indoor air quality products according to manufacturer specifications and applicable codes.
• Professional and respectful communication with customers, office staff, and coworkers.
• Thoroughness in inspections and accuracy in quoting replacements or repairs.
• Positive attitude and ability to promote a professional, friendly work environment.
• Ability to work hard, smart, and efficiently.
• Valid driver's license; drug testing and background checks are conditions of employment.
• Able to lift and maneuver equipment up to 25 pounds.
• Able to crawl, climb, kneel, squat, bend, reach overhead, and climb and work on ladders.
• Able to use hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Determine residential HVAC service needs and perform repairs.
• Troubleshoot and repair a variety of residential HVAC systems.
• Install supporting indoor air quality products according to manufacturer specifications and applicable codes.
• Understand residential heating and cooling equipment operation, indoor air quality, air distribution systems, and basic repairs of HVAC appliances and fixtures.
• Communicate with customers in their homes and businesses.
• Conduct thorough inspections and accurately quote replacements or repairs.
• Complete proposed work as quoted.
• Participate in required staff meetings and training sessions.
• Sell equipment, accessories, and other promotional material from the company.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
