Moyer Indoor Outdoor HVAC Service Technicians
About The Position
Moyer & Son, Inc. is hiring experienced HVAC Service Technicians for its growing HVAC division. The HVAC Residential Service Technician services, repairs, maintains, and performs warranty and emergency work on HVAC and air quality systems throughout their lifecycle. Technicians travel to customers’ residences, assess and troubleshoot systems, and recommend solutions to meet customers’ HVAC and air-quality needs. The role calls for proactive problem solving, strong communication, teamwork, professionalism, and a commitment to customer service, quality, and safety. Technicians participate in ongoing technical, safety, and driver training and may coach, lead, and mentor newer technicians. The position is safety-sensitive and requires working onsite at customer locations, including in confined spaces and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of residential HVAC service or installation experience.
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and ongoing drug testing.
- Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating.
- Working knowledge of boiler systems and oil, gas, and propane systems.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Commitment to customer service, teamwork, quality, and safety.
- Ability to perform the physical demands described, including repeatedly using tools and equipment, working in basements, crawl spaces, and attics, and traversing uneven surfaces.
- Ability to drive and maneuver a large truck in all weather conditions.
- Ability to use a smartphone, tablet, Moyer computer systems, and measuring devices.
- Ability to carry tools, equipment, and parts of varying weights and regularly lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to climb and carry a ladder up to 20 feet without assistance.
- Ability to work onsite for the full scheduled time and overtime as needed.
Responsibilities
- Travel to customers’ residences in a timely manner and follow Moyer safety rules and expectations.
- Address customer needs and provide patient, professional service.
- Install, maintain, clean, adjust, and repair ventilation and air-conditioning systems and equipment.
- Perform warranty services and emergency repairs.
- Manage maintenance risks and mechanical faults on HVAC systems.
- Participate in required technical, safety, and driver training.
- Follow equipment standards and Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements.
- Meet or exceed service standards, work instructions, and customer requirements.
- Maintain detailed inventories of HVAC equipment and resources in the technician’s truck and warehouse for customer jobs.
- Coach, lead, and mentor newer technicians.
- Troubleshoot HVAC systems at a high level.
