About The Position

The HVAC-R Maintenance Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems throughout the facility. The position supports a safe, comfortable, and compliant environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The schedule is first shift, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of HVAC or mechanical maintenance experience in healthcare, commercial, industrial, or institutional environments.
• Working knowledge of HVAC-R equipment, refrigeration systems, electrical components, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical maintenance activities.

Nice To Haves

• HVAC certification, trade school diploma, or state HVAC license.
• EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.
• Healthcare facilities maintenance experience.
• Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and CMMS platforms.

Responsibilities

• Use CMMS software on a mobile device to document work performed and update work orders.
• Operate, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair chillers, air handlers, fans, VAV systems, refrigeration equipment, controls, valves, dampers, and thermostats.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, and equipment rounds.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions.
• Respond to facility emergencies and perform urgent repairs.
• Assist with maintenance projects, equipment installations, and renovations.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and compliance documentation.
• Communicate significant equipment issues and repair recommendations to leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
