About The Position

Crothall Healthcare is hiring a Journeyman Plumber to plan and complete daily plumbing and utility maintenance operations at UK HealthCare. The role includes planning and using materials, inspecting plumbing equipment and systems, and ensuring work complies with applicable regulations throughout the medical center. The position works a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED; college education preferred.
Three to five years of plumbing experience.
Journeyman Plumber License.
Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
Ability to stand for long periods and withstand changing temperature conditions.
Ability to maneuver large trucks in and out of elevators and down corridors.
Ability to lift and push heavy equipment.
Ability to bend with ease.

Nice To Haves

College education.
Hospital plumbing experience.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and schedule skilled-trades staff activities for maintaining and repairing hospital buildings and equipment.
Monitor work orders through project completion and ensure labor, supplies, and materials are charged to the appropriate work orders.
Direct staff in the accurate and safe performance of their duties to protect patients, staff, and visitors.
Inspect work sites to ensure completed work conforms to job specifications.
Recommend and implement policies and procedures for the assigned area.
Estimate equipment parts and materials needed to complete assigned work.
Communicate with vendors, contractors, and departmental personnel to coordinate activities and share information about repairing, altering, and maintaining equipment, machinery, systems, and buildings.
Perform all work in accordance with the Joint Commission, NFPA, and other applicable regulatory agencies.
