About The Position

Join Southcoast Health, a not-for-profit, charitable health system with multiple hospitals, clinics, and facilities throughout Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. We are searching for a talented HVAC Mechanic to perform routine predictive & preventive maintenance on Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) equipment and systems throughout the facilities. This role will also involve renovations, installation of new HVAC/R systems and equipment, troubleshooting and diagnosing malfunctioning HVAC/R equipment and systems, maintaining HVAC/R inventory, making repairs, and calibrating and functionally testing equipment and systems. Recommendations for necessary corrective action are also part of the responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Massachusetts Refrigeration Technician License and Universal Refrigerant Recovery Certification required.
  • Related experience required to demonstrate ability to operate and maintain typical HVAC and Refrigeration Equipment Systems.
  • Two (2) years experience in a hospital or industrial environment with knowledge in the maintenance and repair of centrifugal chillers, energy management systems and associated equipment.
  • Massachusetts Refrigeration Technician License and Universal Refrigerant Recovery Certification required.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree in Refrigeration/Air Conditioning Heating preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine predictive & preventive maintenance on Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) equipment and systems throughout the facilities.
  • Perform renovations and install new HVAC/R systems and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctioning HVAC/R equipment and systems.
  • Maintain HVAC/R inventory.
  • Make repairs, calibrate and functionally test equipment and systems.
  • Recommend solutions for necessary corrective action.
