The HVAC Mechanic will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of all types of HVAC equipment at a Journeyman level of service including air-conditioning equipment, refrigeration equipment, HVAC control systems, and more. This role involves performing maintenance, diagnostic testing, overhauling, installation, and repairs on a wide variety of refrigeration, dehumidification, air-conditioning, ventilation, and heating systems equipment and controls within critically controlled environmental installations. The mechanic will also research specifications, make installation corrections, perform preventative maintenance, and conduct a variety of building maintenance tasks, including adjustments and repairs to HVAC and Electrical systems. The position requires independent work and/or teamwork, with the ability to make decisions and provide sound recommendations concerning HVAC operations and maintenance. Fabrication, assembly, and installation of ductwork, chassis parts, tubing, and piping are also key responsibilities. The role involves connecting motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls, and fans to control panels, installing filters, injecting refrigerant, and testing systems for proper operation and leaks. Wrapping pipes in insulation and replacing defective electrical components are also part of the duties. Other duties as assigned.
