About The Position

Installs, maintains and trouble shoots all heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. Monitors cooling and heating zones to ensure maintenance of required comfort levels. Inspects all HVAC equipment and control systems for proper operation and cleanliness. Completes preventive and corrective maintenance on all specified equipment. Maintains documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory agency requirements. Works with other staff on projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school level of knowledge.
  • Completion of basic HVAC courses at an accredited vocational or technical school.
  • Minimum of three years of HVAC trade experience.
  • Ability to operate a variety of plant equipment, hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of mechanical equipment operation and repair.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of a personal computer.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to independently take initiative and exercise good judgment in decision-making.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively under deadline pressures and to simultaneously handles multiple projects.
  • Professional maturity that daily sets the tone in carrying out the responsibilities of the position.
  • High degree of honesty, integrity and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to undertake new responsibilities as assigned.
  • Ability to work under stress.
  • Certified refrigerant recycling card.
  • Must possess a valid New York state driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyman mechanical card and/or completion of the New York state apprenticeship program for Air Conditioning and Refrigeration desirable.
