This position is responsible for the proper operation of mechanical systems and equipment. These systems are life support systems or essential utilities, including heating, ventilation and air conditioning, critical and commercial refrigeration, special ventilation hoods, terminal and control equipment, pneumatic, automated building systems and direct digital controls. Under the direct supervision of a Supervisor/Lead Mechanic, this position will provide a safe campus by monitoring, troubleshooting, and customizing the HVAC Energy Management System to optimize energy savings. It involves completing inspections and repairs of all mechanical and refrigeration equipment according to established procedures, aiming to lower equipment downtime and repair costs through a maintenance schedule. The role also requires completing required documentation for all equipment, mechanical, and refrigeration systems as mandated by federal, state, and regulatory agencies.
