Plant Maintenance Mechanic
About The Position
Toledo Ice Cream, a DFA company, is seeking skilled plant maintenance mechanics responsible for the care and maintenance of all property and production assets. This role ensures the continuous operation of machinery and equipment by performing planned and unplanned maintenance on production, packaging, processing equipment, and utility systems. Toledo Ice Cream is a farmer-owned brand of Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), a cooperative owned by over 12,500 family farmers. DFA produces a wide range of dairy products under established regional brands. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred; formal engineering/maintenance training a plus
- 1+ year maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (food & beverage preferred)
- 1+ year hands-on experience with electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, HVAC, or computer-controlled equipment
- Experience with industrial equipment (lubrication, material handling, motor/relay/process control, packaging)
- TIG welding experience required
- Ammonia refrigeration experience preferred
- Basic math skills and proficiency with hand tool
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working in cold, wet, noisy environments with potential exposure to chemicals or allergens
- Willing to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays
- Must pass all pre-employment screenings
