About The Position

The HVAC Lab Technician assists mechanical engineers in planning and testing mechanical components, equipment, and machinery. The role tests prototype units and subassemblies under operational conditions, fabricates and assembles mechanical components, interprets project specifications, documents test procedures and results, and helps with proposals, cost estimates, and workload scheduling. This is a second-shift position, scheduled from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Requirements

High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least 5 years of related experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Expert knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in producing precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

Two-year degree or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Test complete prototype units and subassemblies under operational conditions.
Devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified mechanical components or assemblies.
Review project instructions and specifications to identify, modify, and plan fabrication, assembly, and testing requirements.
Record test procedures and results using numerical and graphical data.
Help prepare proposals and cost estimates.
Assist in establishing workload completion dates.
