About The Position

Fortis College in Richmond, Virginia, is seeking an experienced, motivated HVAC/R professional to teach in its HVAC program. This part-time faculty position reports directly to the Dean of Education. The typical teaching load is two courses per term, with one or two course preparations. The instructor will also provide academic advising to students and participate in department training, meetings, and graduation. Fortis offers educational programs focused on practical career skills in high-demand occupations.

Requirements

• Completion of an HVAC/R program resulting in a Certificate of Completion or a diploma; an associate degree is preferred but not required.
• EPA Universal certification.
• Virginia DPOR Journeyman or Master HVAC License.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• At least three years of experience as an HVAC/R Technician.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized, motivated, and results-driven.

Nice To Haves

• An associate degree.
• HVAC Excellence certification.
• NATE certification.
• Prior higher education or postsecondary teaching experience.
